  • Industrial Strike Action - Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th March

    Tue 14 Mar 2023

Industrial Action – Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March 2023

The NEU has formally notified employers that strike action will take place on Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March in relation to a national dispute over pay.

Whilst we will make every effort to open the whole school on the day, indications are that Berridge will need to close some classes. Having assessed the impact and potential risks, and after consultation with the Chair of Governors, I have decided to close certain classes on Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March.

Wednesday 15h March classes in Reception and Year 1 will be closed.

Thursday 16th March classes in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be closed .

The rest of the school is open (including Nursery) and will operate as normal.

If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and is entitled to free school meals then we can arrange for the kitchen to make a packed lunch for the strike days.  These will need to be collected on the morning of the strike from school. Please contact the school office on 0115 9155851 by Monday 13th March to order the packed lunches. All the other years groups will have a hot meal service as normal on both days.

School will be open to all children on Friday 17th March.

    Yours sincerely,

    Jamie Tee

  • Red Nose Day - Friday 17th March

    Thu 09 Mar 2023

We are writing to inform you that on Friday 17th March the school will be raising money for Comic Relief.

This year we have selected the theme ‘Be yourself’. We are asking the children to bring a suggested £1 donation and come in non-uniform, wearing clothes that show they are ‘being themselves’. This could be a favourite outfit, a favourite colour or something that represents their culture.

Please do not feel the need to buy any clothing especially for this day.

This year we have made the decision not to sell the Red Noses in school. They are however available to purchase through Amazon only and are not suitable for children under seven.

Comic Relief is a charity which raises money to help people live free from poverty, violence and discrimination in both the UK and overseas.

Any donations will be collected during morning registration on Friday 17th March.

We thank you in advance for your support.
