  • Provide opportunities for pupils to participate in and respond to artistic, musical, sporting and cultural events.
  • Developing an understanding of and respect for different faiths and cultures
  • Recognise and value, the things we share in common across cultural, religious, ethnic and socio-economic communities
  • Have knowledge of Great Britain’s democratic parliamentary system
  • Understand and appreciate the cultural influences that have shaped their own heritage and that of others
  • Embrace the diverseness of our school community and Britain in general

 

Evidence at Berridge

  • Pupils explore, discuss and take interest in the cultural similarities and differences of our school community
  • Pupils confidently talk about their backgrounds, heritage, opinions and beliefs
  • Diversity built into curriculum planning- this may focus on different cultures, traditions, significant people in the past or present
  • RE curriculum explores beliefs, culture, food and dress allows for discussion and reflection
  • Pupils participate in concerts at school and in the community, Sports teams compete locally and trips, visits and visitors enrich the curriculum
