At Berridge Primary school and Nursery, the wellbeing of our pupils is very important to us. A happy child is a child that is able to learn. We believe every child should have a chance to succeed in school and life, so we provide many ways for our pupils to share their thoughts and worries. Feelings of wellbeing are a fundamental part of a child’s health, which is why we allow all of our pupils access to our learning mentor, who is ELSA (emotional literacy) trained, when needed.
Resources will be added regularly to support parents and children.

Take part in Children’s Mental Health Week, and help make a difference to the lives of children and young people across the UK.
Children’s Mental Health Week 2023 will take place from 6-12 February 2023. This year’s theme is Let’s Connect.
Our free resources for primary age and secondary age children and young people will help you take part in the week. Activities in our resources are designed to encourage children (and adults) to consider how we can make meaningful connections that support our mental health.
Welcome to our Butterfly rooms
Our Butterfly rooms are spaces for our pupils to feel safe and have opportunities to share their thoughts, feelings and emotions. Group and one-to-one sessions happen here. Our rooms are based at both the infants and juniors site.

Challenge:
How many positive things can you think of?
Keeping busy
Keeping busy and moving our bodies every day. It is recommended that every child should exercise for one hour a day. It helps with the circulation of your blood around your body. Moving your body keeps you healthy and improves your mental health and wellbeing.
Try these videos below with your brothers, sisters or even your parents. Lets try and keep the whole house busy moving around:
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is important for helping us to breathe correctly. When we feel stressed, angry or worried we often do not breathe correctly. Having a moment of mindfulness helps regulates our emotions. Mindfulness can be; meditating, going for a walk, resting, listening to calming music.
Being mindful helps us focus on ourselves and less on our environment.
