The Zones of Regulation is a framework used to help children understand and manage their emotions and behaviours. It uses a colour coded system to catergorise their emotions.
BLUE ZONE:
Represents low state of alertness, like feeling tired, sad or sick.
GREEN ZONE:
This is the best zone to be in for learning. It is where you feel calm and focused
YELLOW ZONE:
This zone indicates a heightened sense of alertness, such as feeling anxious, silly or frustrated.
RED ZONE:
Represents an extremely heightened state of alternes, like feeling angry, panicked, over joyed or having out-of-control outbursts.
Children learn to recognise which zone they are in and strategies they can use to move to different zones.
