“ Working together to achieve success”

Year 4 Focus Page - December 2025

Year 4 have been have been very busy recently, they have been learning about the Ancient Greeks and the influence they have had to today’s society. This can be seen when looking at architecture from 2 thousand years ago to the buildings we see around Nottingham today such as columns, friezes and pediments. Using our knowledge of Greek architecture, we created models based on our own designs of the Parthenon.

Over the last few weeks we have been lucky to have our local PCSO Lucy and a number of university students coming in to speak to us about the criminal justice system. We discussed who they are and gave the children a questionnaire to gather their perspectives of the Police.

At the end of November, we had the amazing opportunity to meet Swapna Haddow, author of the fantastic books Dave Pigeon and Bad Panda.

She gave us some brilliant tips on how to start story writing in a writer's workshop, and then answered all our questions about how to become an author.
