ATTENDANCE

School attendance is an important part of giving your child the best possible start in life. Children who miss school frequently can fall behind with their work and do less well in exams.

Research suggests that children who attend school regularly could also be at less risk of getting involved in antisocial behaviour or crime.

At Berridge we are all committed to supporting children learn, develop and achieve the best outcomes. It is important that children come to school every day. Below is a table showing how your child’s percentage attendance equates to the amount of school time missed.

School recognises that children become ill from time to time but many times children are still able to attend school and the school office is able to administer medicine with your permission. Please speak to the school office if you are unsure

The school has clear procedures for extended leave and holiday in term time. It is important that you discuss and seek authorisation before making any travel arrangements. School will only authorise leave in exceptional circumstances and expects parents to book any leave in school holidays. A link to the school holidays is available on this website which can be found here Term Dates | Berridge Primary School (secure-primarysite.net).

Ms Peach is our new attendance officer and she works on Tuesday and Wednesdays with parents and staff to help improve attendance.
