Australian Wildfire Donation

A group of year 6 children recently raised an incredible £200 to support the wildlife affected by the devastating wildfires in Australia. We received the following emails to thank us:

Dear Berridge Primary and Nursery School

We’re really grateful for your fantastic efforts in raising an astounding £200.00 during your parents' evening collection, thank you and well done! We would also like to say a big thank you to the Year 6 children for their passion and commitment to fighting for our world - it was truly inspiring to read about your assembly presentation 🐨

As specified in your letter, £100.00 of your generous donation has been allocated towards becoming Koala Protectors - you will receive your Koala Protector certificate and update at this email address. Thanks to you, we can work to restore koala habitat and provide care to koalas injured by the devastating firest.

The remaining £100.00 will help us to provide emergency funds to care for injured Australian wildlife and, after the fires clear, help restore homes for koalas and other wildlife, by planting the first 10,000 trees urgently needed in koala habitats. Your amazing support will also help us to pressure governments to strengthen laws that prevent excessive tree-clearing, before it's too late.

The money Berridge Primary and Nursery School donate will help us to work hard to address threats facing Australian wildlife, habitats and people. There are many other ways you can help too, if you’re not already aware of our Green Ambassadors programme please look on our website, it’s a fantastic way for your school and pupils to get more involved.

Attached is a certificate of thanks for all your hard work; we achieve very little without the support and passion of our schools and their pupils. On behalf of everyone at WWF, thank you.

Warm regards
Bethany 🐼

We also received this certificate which we will print and give to the fundraisers when they return to school.
