• Giving pupils the opportunity to explore values and beliefs, including religious beliefs, and the way in which they impact on peoples’ lives.
• Where pupils already have religious beliefs, supporting and developing these beliefs in ways which are personal and relevant to them.
• Encouraging pupils to reflect and to learn from reflection. 
• Giving pupils the opportunity to understand human feelings and emotions, the way they impact on people and how an understanding of them can be helpful.

Evidence at Berridge

• Assembly timetable recognises key festivals special days,  British Values,  School Values and the PSHE focus for the half term.

• Our RE lessons are based on Discovery RE scheme of work- enquiry approach- Use of Key Question
• Visitors from the local Church carry out an assembly each term
• Diwali and Eid assemblies often led by Hindu, Sikh and Muslim pupils and staff
• Harvest Festival – food donations go to our local food bank
• KS1 Christmas show and the Christingle are both at St Stephen’s Church
• Golden Book Assembly where children’s learning and/or attitude are celebrated
• Encouraging pupils to share their beliefs with their classes and during assembly. 
• Charity and fundraising events – Children in Need, Red Nose Day, Summer Fair
• PSHE lessons- follows Nottingham Skills Ladder, PSHE theme days
• Explicit teaching of manners and politeness for pupils and staff
• Reinforcing concepts in whole school assemblies
• Whole school class rules displayed in each room
